Laurel

Laurel

Laurel Tree (Lauris Nobilis) is a tree with bright green leaves that remains green in all seasons and is unique to the Mediterranean geography. Its leaves are used to add flavor in cooking, and its oil is used to make soap, shampoo and for medicinal purposes. It has a connection with the character and story of Daphne in mythology, and takes its name from mythology. There are different species of the laurel tree outside the Mediterranean geography, but since most of them are poisonous (for example, wild laurel or Arabian laurel), they cannot be used in cooking. The only genus used for medicinal and food purposes is the Mediterranean laurel Lauris Nobilis genus. The height of the laurel tree varies, sometimes reaching up to 18 meters. This tree is a unisex tree, both male and female flowers can be found on one tree. The flowers are pale green, tinged with yellow, and the leaves are generally 6 - 12 cm. in length, 2 - 4 cm. wide. The fruit of the tree resembles olives in appearance. Bay tree forests were once seen in the Mediterranean basin.
